Opening Day Bulletin for September 2, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We would like to welcome all new and returning students to the 2025 - 2026 school year. We hope everyone enjoyed a fun and restful summer and is ready for an exciting new term. Trudeau Elementary is certainly a wonderful place to learn and play! We are excited that our new intermediate playground is almost complete and will be ready to access shortly.
Teachers have been thoughtful and thorough with class placements for this school year. I hope you can appreciate that there are many important factors taken into consideration by the staff in setting up each classroom. The school district and staff have worked thoughtfully in creating a safe environment for your children.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
Returning student lineup outside their classroom from last June and new students to the school will meet in the gymnasium. Pickup will be from last year’s classroom.
Kindergarten students will begin gradual entry starting on Wednesday, September 6th. A separate email will be sent to Kindergarten parents regarding details. Starting Wednesday, school is all day, so please ensure your child has a snack and lunch. Students are encouraged to bring their own labelled water bottle to school.
LUNCH PROCEDURES
Students going home for lunch must let their teacher know with a note from a parent. Otherwise, students are expected to eat their lunch in their classroom. Please ensure your child’s lunch includes a spoon and/or fork if needed. Information on hot lunch opportunities will be coming soon from PAC.
ARRIVAL AND PICK UP
Staff supervision begins at 8:40am before school and until 3:20pm after school. Please adhere to these times when picking up or dropping off your children. We are unable to supervise children outside of these times unless they are involved with an activity with one of our staff members. If there is some unforeseen reason why your child may be picked up late, please be sure to contact the office.
Please ensure your child arrives at school on time. It can be disruptive to the class when students arrive after 9:00am and it presents the late student with an anxious or unsettled start to the day. Please try to keep late arrivals to a minimum.
SCHOOL COMMUNICATION
School and District news items will be placed on our district and school websites. Very important or time sensitive information will be sent directly to parents via email. To do our part to protect our environment, we will not be sending paper copies home. Please check the website on a regular basis as it will be updated with pertinent information and dates. Teachers will also share information through their desired form of communication.
EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION
Various online and paper forms requiring your attention will be available for access next week. If is appreciated that you respond as quickly as possible. It is also extremely important that the school has your updated telephone numbers as well as numbers of people you designate as emergency contacts.
See you next week,
Jim Munk
